END OF THE WORLD, SHOT ON A BUDGET
The Edge doesn't need CGI cities or bombastic fireballs. Its weapon is atmosphere, stillness, decay framed with precision.
A dead tree. A broken highway. A crow screaming at the wrong moment. That is all it takes to undo you.
This is cinema for the cracked and the quiet, for anyone who has ever asked, what if I am the thing not worth saving?
MADE DIFFERENTLY, ON PURPOSE
The low budget shapes more than the images. It shapes how the people who make the film are paid.
Most low-budget films run on a hierarchy of pay and a back-end promise the crew rarely collect. This one is built the other way. Everyone earns the same day rate, from the lead to the runner, and everyone shares in what the film earns, in proportion to the days they gave it. The terms are the same for each person, written down before the first day.
The full model is set out here: read the manifesto.
PRODUCTION PARTNERS
The script is done. The vision is locked. We are looking for production companies with an appetite for the unconventional, ones that understand a small budget is a way of making sharper decisions, not a lesser film.
If that is you, get in touch.
FINANCIAL PARTNERS
The film carries a written revenue-sharing structure for the people who fund it, described in the manifesto: capital is repaid first, with a premium, and profit is shared after that. We discuss it directly and privately with partners who want to invest. There is no public offer on this page. Reach out and we will talk it through.
The Edge is built for independence. Over the last several years Frankie Doguet has built the infrastructure to make that real:
- Skrean.co, a streaming platform built for The Edge, now open to other independent filmmakers.
- Revcut.io, a film review tool for creative feedback.
- Johatsu, an apparel and print label.
INDIVIDUAL SUPPORT
You can also back the film directly. This is a contribution that unlocks perks, not a share of the film's revenue. The revenue-sharing in the manifesto is for the cast, crew, and investors; individual support is a gift to the production, thanked with perks.
From €100, you choose the amount. Every euro goes to the screen:
- The cast and crew who make the film.
- Meals, housing, and transport during the shoot.
- Production design and equipment that carry the film's atmosphere.
- Festival submissions and the materials to get it seen.
In return: your name in the credits, no bumper before the film on Skrean, lifetime access to the film, and early access to everything.
Support is handled through Skrean.co, where your perks are activated. You will be redirected there to complete it.
